BACKGROUND
 

Busola A. Akinwale joined Blackwell Burke P.A. in June 2011. Ms. Akinwale has broad experience in complex litigation, including patent
and trademark cases, at both the trial and appellate court levels. She is admitted to practice in Minnesota state and federal courts,
as well as the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.


Ms. Akinwale serves on the Board of Directors of the Fred Wells Tennis & Education Center, a public tennis facility and
youth-development nonprofit organization that provides quality, accessible tennis and education opportunities to the community,
especially inner-city youth.

REPRESENTATIVE CASES

• Andersen Corp. v. Pella Corp. et al., No. 2007-1536, 2008 WL 4927431 (Fed. Cir. Nov. 19, 2008), cert. denied, 129 S. Ct. 2739 (2009). Represented Andersen Corporation in overturning the district court’s summary judgment order finding the claims of the asserted patent invalid for obviousness. This was one of the first post-KSR decisions from the Federal Circuit to reverse a district court finding of obviousness. (Before joining Blackwell Burke P.A.)
