    Blackwell Burke P.A. Attorney Charmaine K. Harris represented 3M in the federal Bair HuggerTM Multidistrict Litigation (MDL) where she secured dismissal of a case removed from Oklahoma state court. The case was originally filed in the District Court Comanche County, Oklahoma in 2018 and was successfully removed to the federal District Court of Minnesota as part of the Bair Hugger MDL. Blackwell Burke defeated the MDL in July 2019 with more than 5,000 cases dismissed.   • Eighth Circuit Appeal Victory Leads to New Action for Pro Bono Client

    After winning an appeal before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, Blackwell Burke P.A. is now challenging a 125-year-old statute that requires a unanimous vote of the Board of Pardons to effectuate a pardon in Minnesota. The Firm charges that that statute unconstitutionally restricts the Governor’s exercise of executive function and violates Minnesota’s demand for separation of governmental power.     Blackwell Burke recently led successful negotiations on behalf of global telecommunications client CenturyLink with Minnesota’s Attorney General.  Blackwell Burke CEO and founder Jerry Blackwell spearheaded the negotiations in partnership with three other law firms. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison praised Blackwell’s efforts. “I will say this. Even though CenturyLink put us through a lot of changes, they did cooperate to this settlement agreement [sic].
